Botticelli’s story is one of the strangest of the Renaissance. Patronized by the Medici family, he became one of the first – and certainly the most important – painter of mythology in fifteenth century Florence. Despite his questionable technical skill (Leonardo thought his painting was rubbish), he created some of the most memorable, inspired and magical works of the time. Rose Balston will cover all of this and much more in the next installment of her Renaissance series at XVA Gallery in Dubai.
