The ‘Herstory: Film & the Arab Woman’ film series continues this month, which features contemporary films by or about Arab women. This month sees the screening of Cactus Flower, on 27 March, which focuses on two women embarking on a journey to find shelter in Cairo with Yassin, a twenty-year old street savvy youth. Their journey, at times disastrous and at times banal, sees them travel along parallel paths of self-discovery. On the same night, the short documentary MAMSOUS, directed by Shatha Masoud, will be shown. The documentary focuses on three people who share their experiences with clinical depression and panic attacks. These screenings, held in partnership with Cinema Akil, are free to attend.
